Thrown off horse. Fell on my lower back but I heard a very loud "pop" from side of my neck!? - accident pain behind right ear

I was thrown from my horse yesterday in an accident and fell into a gravel road that is used for heavy equipment, and it is almost as hard as concrete. I was a little, but then fell back and almost beat exclusively on my sacrum. This surprised me very badly and thought I broke my back at first. I also thought I was on the side of my head on the floor because I heard a noise so loud in my ear that had as my ear was beat the ground with his incredible pain behind the ear.
